Question?
« on: 07 Jan 2004, 14:31:30 »
Hi there, and Happy New Year. I have made several missions now and I have noticed something that bothers me somewhat and I was thinking someone here would probably know the answer.

I have my Terrain Detail set @ High. When I am editing and in single player, they display in high detail but for some reason when I am hosting or playing MP the terrain detail defaults to Normal even though it still insists it is set to high. It is a very noticeable difference. Does anyone know what the problem is and more importantly how to solve it.

Thanks

Brick

Try the official forums. OFPEC is just an editing board.

with high terrain there is a lot of bumpiness therefor giving more cover in single player, there is a fixed setting in mulitplayer so the lower end guys wont be at an advantage being able to shoot through the bumps in the ground

example

High end guys might see this with the guys being at each end therefore not being able to shoot the low end guy

Low end guy might see this

easily being able to shoot the high end guy without him being able to shoot back

yep, it's done so the low end guys and the high end guys are all equal.
