ECP Core System

By the great god ARBOR.. Help!!!

I have spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out what part of this system is making my computer CTD.  I have narrowed it down to explosions.. I think..  at least that is when it does its magic black screen then desktop trick.   When something blows up it almost always crashes.

I thought at first maybe the Dynamic Range plug-in was causing it but I removed that and went with a clean ECP install and it still does it, with the units that came with the game or add-on units, all islands.

I have a Windows XP based system running an AMD Athlon 2600+ Processor, 512megs Dual Channel DDR 400mhz ram, ATI Raedon 9600XT and Creative Audigy 2 card.  All with the latest drivers.

Someone give suggestions on making ECP stablize itself on my rig.  What little I have been able to play with was just too cool for words.. I nearly died laughing when a russian tank commander got out of his tank and was running with his head on fire...  I MUST get this working!  The sounds, the sights, the smells!   I need more from my OFP!  ECP can give it.    HELP!  Thank you in advance.   5 Toll house cookies to the guru who gives me the right answer that fixes the world for me.

You didn't say what version of OFP you are running.

BTW....There is a topic for ECP bugs at this location:

U can turn of the settings u think cause the crashes.

Open the ECP_Settings.sqs file in your ECP rout directory.

You will find a fairly well organised script, where u can change certain settings.

Now u mention you think your trouble are caused by the exlposions, u can turn them off.

Find the line :
? [ECP_explosion_enable] call ECP_is_null: ECP_explosion_enable = true

Change true to false. (don't forget to save)

Now restart ofp, you will notice the explosions are turned off.

Don't forget to post your bug, at the thread plank posted!  ;)
