Adding sound to missions
« on: 28 Nov 2003, 22:20:13 »
I have been trying for some time to add my own sounds to my missions. I downloaded a tutorial from this site, OFP Cool studio and numerous wav->ogg converters. I have had no problems converting the sounds and getting them into the game. They appear in the relevant menus in triggers but when they are supposed to play, no sound comes out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have recently registered on this site as it is the site that has taught me everything I know about Flashpoint, and I would like to thank everyone on this site for enhancing my gaming experience immensley.

Thanks!

I don't know too much about the description and stringable files, I just used OFP Cool Editor 3.0 and a tutorial I found on this site. :hmm:

Commands? ???
I just used a tutorial I found on this wonderful ;) site!
Basically i just used the tool in Ofp cool editor 3.0 to load the sound into the mission. It comes up under the sound menu in the effects part of a trigger, but it just doesnt make any sound. They are all 44100Khz or something like that.

Triple post...Nice ;)

its not description probably, but, make sure you got the file path right with no capitals in (apparently), and a \ before the folder name. ie \sasmission\music\track1.ogg

and make the numbers after that to 1,1, thats volume and pitch.

Other than that, its going to be sound file related...its wierd the way that works, sometimes you can convert from a different type of file and it doesnt work, but converting from MP3 generally works.

Anyway, im not an expert, im sure someone will come along with a proper answer soon, but check all the above while your waiting for an expert!

Sorry 'bout the triple post, damn screwy laptop pad is too sensetive. ::)

I'm pretty sure I have the /'s in, unless OFP Cool Editor is screwed up. I was playing a min ago and one of the sound files worked in one mission, so I decided to try and add another into the mission. But, when the trigger is activated, (when the sound gun.ogg is supposed to play) I get an error message:

No entry \description.ext/cfg sounds/"gun.titles"
WTF? ??? Help? Anyone? Please? :'(
