triggers && ignoring some units

ok heres what i have, i have a trigger around a gate. Whenever a East unit goes into the trigger area the gate opens, when the unit leaves the trigger area the gate closes. But i would like to place some units around the gate (guards basically), the problem is that if i place them around the gate they are in the trigger area and they trigger the trigger. How can i get the trigger to ignore the units i have placed to guard the gate but let every other east unit through

Put [loon1,loon2,loon3] in thislist, in the triggers condition field...
also remember to make it activated by east and repeatedly.
[loon1,loon2,loon3] =array of units that u want to be able to go trough the gate (u can add as many units and change the names as u like)...
I'm not 100% shure about the syntax, but it should work ;).

I think that you may also use the F2 key and "group" the units that you want to activate the trigger to the trigger. After hitting the F2 key, drag a line from the trigger to the units that you want to activate that specific trigger (or is it from the unit to the trigger). At work so I can not check to be sure though.

wat u need 2 do is 1 east present triger nd in da condition field put

count thislist > num

da number shud b da num of units startin near da triger ;)

tel me if it works ;D
