Radio voice creator software

I know this had to ba asked before, and I looked thru the tutorials, and printed almost all of them. (good stuff there)

What/how are the radio voices created?  I made a wav file and got the radio to say it, but it sounds like me.  I did the same for a couple of guys.  I wanted something that would change my voice to sound like it's on a radio with static.

What's the best and a cheap program to use for this?

There are a few different filters in there that can be used to make a good radio sound. Check out bloodmixer's sound tutorial. Also, keep in mind that when you convert to ogg, some sound quality will be lost, making it sound a little more like a radio transmission.

I just read bloodmixer's sound tutorial.  That's how I knew how to make them talk.  It was excellent.

I have some sound editing software but I don't know what to do with the voice to get it to sound redioish.

Try recording your voice through an actual radio.  Get a couple of cheap kids walkie-talkies.  Put your mic near one and talk into the other one (from another room).  That's what I do (expect I use amateur band radios).

You could also try recording with the mic gain set very low.  Use your sound software to amplify the wav file a few hundred percent.  That will amplify the noise as well as your voice.  That actually decreases the signal-to-noise ratio, which is the exact opposite of what most people want

I've used cool edit in the past to get decent radio sounding sounds. It's got a few good filters on it too, for radio, or telephone or a large room, etc.

I just started using GoldWav.  Navy_Seals mentioned it is his sound tutorial.  This software makes really cool radio voices.  I'm using it now.  Thanks for a super tip.

Hahaha, put the radio to the micraphone hhaha . .  . well, actually . . . that's what I do Only my radios were $300 but it does make it sound good . . . Just wait till "THE UNSUNG" comes out, then you'll all come back crying
