Idea for cutscene

Hey guys (and gals),

I'm afraid I'm *very* new to this so I thought I might pass an idea I had for a cutscene past you as I'm not sure my idea would work...and you never know, there may be an easier way!! ;)

So basically, I was hoping to have a chinook or summin carrying a jeep.  As far as I know that is possible, but it would require using scripting to repeatedly spawn a jeep under the craft carrying it...which I've een told could be CPU intensive.

So, my idea was to take the carrying craft into oxygen and create a box under the craft, which could be used to hold the jeep.  Then if I didnt apply a texture to this box then it would appear invisible but the jeep would be visible...summin like that anyway :hmm:

I realise that probably means the craft would be no use for anything else but that isnt so important...

Anyway, any problems/easier ways?  Or maybe its not really possible at all???

And search for a script that will do exactly what u want.. Ie it will attach a vehicel to a Chinook to all it to be transported.. If u have problems with the scripting ASK !!

the BAS Chinook is capable of doing what u want...  ;)

If your refering to a vehicle carried under a chinook. Then to be dropped over a location. Their is a script for that. I have used it in making a mission. When the chinook hits a trigger at a location..the vehicle drops, then a parachute opens, as vehicle is dropping. You can have up to four parachutes onto the vehicle, while it is falling (Have to read "Readme" to help on that). It is the script: Chinook Rope Script and Addon. When the vehicle lands on the ground, it is amazing, the shocks work, Can see the bounce. The kewlest script I have ever used.


It is not possible to respawn repeatly, although you can hook up vehicles using the rope. Dunno about AI going back to a location to pick/hook up vehicles.

This is not CPU intensive.
(you prob have to copy the URL line below and past to get script or information.)

Isnt that what i said but just a more "detailed" way of saying it ?

*holds gun to tinky's head* download the BAS chopper NOW i got a 56k only and it didnt take that long, it also has the (albeit limited) ability to store 1 jeep or similar vhicle or up to 10 of BAS's delta/ranger motorbikes its really cool

Hey hey, chill man.....

I had downloaded the BAS stuff...I just hadn't hecked into it.

The reponse I gave was not repeated, and only more helpfull. From your post was directed to an editors index and not directly to the script itself: "Chinook Rope Script and Addon"
