Find a file. Click on the download link. It was give you a box with the name of the download and what you want to do with it. Select "save to disk" (or words similar to that). Click "Next" or "yes" or whatever it is then. When it gives you a path to save it to, pick a destination. You may with to put all your downloaded addons in one place before you unpack them or just stick them in the addons folder straight away. Whatever your choice, type it in the box, or hit browse to use your mouse... and then hit ok and it should start downloading the file.
Once teh file is downloaded it will be in a .zip format. This is an compressed file with all the addon goodness inside. You need somthing that will open up these zips. Head over to
www.winzip.com and download it. Theres an unlimited free trial so download this, follow the above rules. Once winzip is downloaded doubleclick on the file and it should ask you where to install it. The default path is fine, or place it where ever you want.
Now back to your zip. Right-click on the zip and you should get the normal popup box with a few extra options. Hover the mouse over the "WinZip" option so it expands. Then select "Extract to here". This will pull out all the gooey addon centre, depositing a pbo in the same folder you are in (or idealy it will create a new folder by itself depending how the addon maker made the zip). Either way, find the pbo and place it into your flashpoint>addons folder.
Congrats, you just downloaded and installed an addon.
