Lay Down!
« on: 08 Jun 2003, 12:57:20 »
Hi everyone! :D

  How is everybody doin'?  :afro:

I'd like to know if it's possible to lay a unit on it's back. I guess to I kill him could work but would the unit always fall on it's back? But I'd prefer have him alive... ...Or at least make him lool like it!  ;D

Can anyone help me?

No it doesn't work, I've tried them all.

I guess the only way to do it right would be to rotate the loon!

Now the question is; is this opsible at all ???    ???

(Don't have time to check it out now, but I saw that they used it in the official missions and then the unit fell on his back.)

Knut Erik's idea works fine! Thanx man!

The way the loon will hold himself to the plane will look kinda funny but I'm not goin' to be picky about this one. I'll just pretend the loon had hemoroids that day!  ;D ;D

BTW, isn't there possibility to rotate objects in OFP?

addons are addons, the editor is the editor. I think u have to make an addon to rotate a thing, if u dont want to blow the stuff up and hope that the side u want it to lay on it will land on. :P

So this means that there's definitely no way to rotate objects with some scripts or something like that?

   Schade! :-\

I've been wondering about this one, too.  I'd like to take a fixed wing airplane and plant it into the "river" in the SEB_Nam Pack addon so the tail is sticking straight up into the sky and the only thing visible.

It seems like it should be possible through the editor somehow, because waypoints have an angle setting (wouldn't that be a type of rotation?).

U mean that the steel walls where lying flat over another object(s) (kind of like a roof). Well if U'r talking about that it shouldn't be so hard to acomplish, just setPos the steel wall(s) over one of the objects(s) n' type setDammage 1 in the steelwall's init-field. If U placed the wall(s) corectly it should look kind of like a roof or whatewer U wanted it to be.

was that what U ment???

Well, sorta!  :-\

What I mean is, is there a way to """rotate""" objects in OFP?

I mean in the type of way we position objects in OFP. -We can place them where ever on the map, facing any directions and at any height. My version of rotating an object is more like leaning it 15 degrees vertically to the back, or lay a unit horizontally without having to kill him.

Though You're idea 'bout the walls is pretty good!  ;)

The walls I've seen were standing (vertical position) and rotated 90° to the side.
