Afghan map, coming to completion with many new models...

Hey Robbo, Ace, Pathy, and Mike........ I'm getting too much pressure from people at the PM.... do you mind if I could just give the Demo version which is easily upgradable.  You know.  The version that you guyz have right now.  So people could constatly upgrade the map without DL those huge files everytime when the map is updated?  Just have to DL the 4 base files and DL the updated additional files when it comes out.  Uppack the catintro.pbo, move those updated additional files into the decoded folder, then repack it into catintro.pbo.

Eventually I'll be finish and I update the catintro.wrp everyday so I'm sure people will not get board of it.   I could give the ofp.info about the info and account so people could start DLing it?  Oh yeah and Mike, I forgot to write this in the reply to your PM but yes you could send pictures to the sites about my map (we won't have to if we could release the demo.)

Hmm I think you should give the demo version for download. What I've read from OFP.info they have the demo island, maybe you can send them an updated wrp-file every 2 weeks or so.

The wrp-file and config.cpp/bin should have their own pbo in the demo version. So every time when we download the update for this island we would only have to overwrite the wrp-pbo. No hassling with opening the catintro.pbo and replacing the old wrp.

And when you add new objects they should too have their own pbo, and this pbo would be updated along with the wrp-pbo. So the pbo-files would be:

catintro.pbo --the major addon file
catwrp.pbo --only the wrp-file and config.cpp/bin
catobjects.pbo --new objects

WOW CAT THIS MAP ROCKS!!

Seriously, great job, you can bet that your map will get plenty of missions made for it.  Excellent quality, minimal bugs for a beta version (I was impressed to see no LOD errors) and very little lag (possibly because there are not too many trees).  I just love flying through the mountains in a chopper, then landing on one of your buildings.

I cannot wait for the next version!  Maybe an airstrip soon?

Just remember this is ONLY a BETA and is only a minor indication of how the map will come out, things will change, things will be deleted, things will be added etc.
And there is no release date set for the full version yet, so play around with the BETA for now

I was already to download the map here in work and take it home on floppies if I had to!
