So if i am making a plane with a wing span of 7.15 metres how many squares should i stretch it to get the exact width? :)

I know i am sounding like a dumb a** but my maths isnt that good and i am confused  ???

make it 7.15 squares, but you will also notice that if you do,your plane will be large

After making it,resize it to match how large it should be compared to the soldiers

Morpheus,

What I normally do is find a set of blueprints or some photos on the net. Colonel Klinks tutorial is a must see.

Once I have the model finished I select the whole thing and then scale it correctly.

In answer to your question on 7.15 there is no way to set the 0.15. I would just make the model 7 squares and a bit. You could work of the co ordinates but trust your eye.

Exactly Scouse jedi i have been following Colonel Klinks tute on it hes the plane makers saviour  ;D

By the way he used 7.5 squares for his 14.5 metres wingspan so i decided to use 3.5 squares for my 7.15 mtres wingspan pretty close i say but one more problem from kilinks tute whenever i save my work and then try and reload the work all the textures i mean the pics from the planes 3 view pics have disappeared but it appears fine in Buldozer any ideas as to what causes it?

Its O2, not you.

I generally try to get the raw skeleton of the model done in one long sitting coz I got fed up of trying to line all the textures up in the correct scale.

You could always create a face the same size as the texture you are using, paste it onto that, then when you reload O2 you can just select the face, press A then right click and select "Background from face" to bring it back at the right size. Not sure I've explained it too well, if I haven't I can try again when I've drunk less Stella  :-\

I'm afraid I can't answer the question because I don't understand the problem...

You can't see textures in O2 anyways..  (except for the last one you mapped of course)   ::)

So....  How about if you .pbo it and put it in-game?  Are there Textures then?

The save option works fine for me.

Save.

Save.

Works!   ;)

Umm fella i am following colonel klinks tutorial on making a plane (the piper cheyenne to be exact) in which he uses a 3 view pic of a plane and imports it in oxygen to base the planes model on it .... now i have done it all after i am through mapping the picture as the background i save my work shut off my pc............

..........the next day i open my pc i start o2 and reload my work but all i see now is empty windows in o2 all the backgroun pics have gone but the mapping remians and so does the plane i mapped it on.
The pictures even appear in buldozer as if they are there but they dont appear in the o2's windows in front or side or any window and now how can i model my plane or placemy vertices when i cant see the planes pic for background reference to trace on.

Hope you are getting my point (if still not check out col klinks tute)

I want to find a way how to save and reload so my pics remain and i dont have to sweat it out and make the model in one go and waste myself infront of my pc for 10 hours ::)
