Briefing Groups
« on: 01 Aug 2005, 23:59:30 »
Forgive me if this has been asked before, however when I have a mission with a group that starts in a vehicle using the following in the group leaders initialization field:

"_x moveinCargo pbrmain" forEach units this

When I bring up the map in game and go to the briefings group tab, it shows no one, not even me.

But if I take the group out of the vehicle and start them on land, I can see the group list in the briefing.

Bug?

Don't worry this is normal. Groups that start the mission in cargo are not displayed in the groups tag. It's Flashpoint not you.

I don't know if it will work but you could try having them out of the vehicle at the start of the mission and then moveincargo them just after it starts. Might work.

You can hide the move with a very short camera bit pointing somewhere else. Bear in mind that I'm not sure it will work though.

Yeah, that should work, just use a black in at the start of the mission, that should hide the transfer.

I can confirm that this method is fine :)

I use it in most of my missions... it also adds a bit of 'ambience' to the start of the mission. If you have a small (ie. 4 second) cutscene it helps set the mood for the mission to come.
