AN/PVS-7 Night Vision Goggles
« on: 15 Jan 2005, 17:50:43 »
With Hyakushiki Modern US Infantry v1.52 and Earl and Suchey's Marpat US Marine we got some awesome looking modern US forces and i think they would look even better with these modern Night Vision Goggles also for realism.
Not a big issue but it would add a little extra to realism when using these great addons.

Well, if knew anything about addon editing i would make them myself. ;D

You could take a look at Inquisitor's NV Goggles and see if anything there can help you.

I do know to get new NV Goggles in OFP we have to de-pbo the data and data3D pbo's and put the new model and textures there.
The alternative is to make a new soldier model with the googles attached like the BAS pilots but that would make the goggles visible in daytime to.
So i think it's best just to make a new model to replace the ugly old BIS goggles.

here's a link to da Inq goggles, maybe it could be helpfull to see how he has done it.

I tried to download it from his personal web-site, but the file is corrupted, so it's useless...  :-\
But a friend of mine told me that you need to Decompress Data.pbo and Data3D.pbo (...\OPF\Data) and replace the already existing ones.
If someone is planning to make a new version, please, add it as a normal Addon  8)

Some soldier addons have options of put helmet on/off and facecamo on/off with addactions, so maybe it's possible to do the same with nvg's.
If not the only way is to replace BIS goggles or attach it to the soldier model but that will force the poor soldiers to run around with those things on there helmets in daylight to, i'm guessing that's not very comfortable.
