Warning: File is Read-Only!?

Hi.

I have spent days making this mission of mine and I had just made some Voices for it when all of a sudden, I tried to get into my mission on the Editor, but a sign came up saying;

"Warning: File is read only."

I then went into my mission through my OFP directory and checked off the Read Only box in the properties, but everytime I apply it, the Read Only Box is automatically rechecked and won't allow me into the mission. Has anyone else encountered this problem before and know how to fix it? Thanks all the same.

Have you checked if the scripts and the cutscenes in the mission folder look the right way? It appears to me that your mission became corrupted . I had the same problem with AirCav1, but I was lucky enough and uploaded the mission just two days before this happened.

Do u have any back-up copies?

Yea I think so.

Think is I've changed a lot since then. The main things that I have done to the folder was to edit some sounds files that I have made. Would that have been enough to corrupt the file?

Right click with yer mouse on the folder and click properties...
If there's a tick in a box next to phrase 'read only', that's the reason...
Or, one of the files inside has 'read only' ticked in it's properties (much more probable actually)...

That happens to me when I open old CWC campaign missions that have been on a CD, which obviously is read only...

You could try copying and pasting the contents of your sqm into a fresh sqm in a different mission folder. It's a very long shot and I don't know why it would work if it did but if you're running out of options...

yes I have the same problems some times. It occurs like this:

You make a new folder with any name with the extension .noe/.eden/.cain./.intro and when you open it in game it says its read only.

The right way is to make a new mission in the editor, then save it, and THEN open the folder and put your stuff in.. Well I have the feeling this is not it but this is another problem that can be solved

no i've made my own folder before, in fact you don't actually HAVE to use the editor, you could type up everything for the mission.sqm without even going into the game (probably need a map though)
