Landing a plane and stuff
« on: 17 Oct 2004, 22:44:01 »
Hello

Im kind of working on a few missions mostly just fo fun but, im planing on mayby realising one some day.  And I have a few ideas.

Im planing a "campain" in the AEC-maps and I want it to start with a rather long movie. In the movie you will see how the East invades Malden (Since malden has the only working airport). and I want a few planes that transports stuff.

So now for the question.

How do I get it to look like the AI is loading tanks into and Airgraft.

And how do I get an airgraft to land with out using the land Autopilot command.
Don't ask about my spelling. I know it sucks

with the right camera angles and using deletevehicle command you could probably fool the viewer into thinking that's what was happening..

something like.. show  tank roll up to the back of the plane then using deletevehicle you make it disappear...

if the camera was panning or something you could use the plane to block the view of the tank simply disappearing...

And if the runways have been setup properly for the island you're using then a land waypoint should make the pilot head for the proper landing spot on the map...

Kali meant a getout waypoint ... put it on the runway and the plane should land automatically.   You will have to experiement a little to find just the right place to start the plane, if they can't get the angle right they will go round again.    What Kali was thinking of was a land command, which indeed might help  if its not going well.

Everon and Nogova also have working airfields.

Okay. Thanks. I'll try it all.

Anybody that would mind helping with the camera stuff?

Do anybody know if the airfield on the AEC-map is correct?

I tried this with alot of airplanes and it worked fine. With all planes exept Hawks C130. I mannaged to land 6 Tornados in formation with out crashing.  So thanks for the tips.

C130s turn up all the time on these forums as planes that don't work properly.   ::)   Or maybe its always the same one.
