Request for tank model MLOD p3d file
« on: 29 Sep 2004, 03:21:54 »
I have been having the darndest time getting a tank model for my single-player tank modification that I had asked about earlier.  I need a model because I need to adjust the memory LOD so the driver's view is the gunner's view.  Technically I don't need that, but I think fixing the center view to the gun barrel is more intuitive.

I've tried:
- ODOL Explorer 2.0 and 2.44.  Version 2.0 creates an Abrams that is buggy.  It has no weight, so the recoil sends it into the sky.  It also has geometry problems such that some vertices are stuck when it tries to rotate.  A model exported from 2.44 crashes OFP when I try to load the mission with the model in it.
- BIS model in the models archive they released.  The textures are incorrect, and I hear that the collision detection is incorrect.
- I've tried to bug some addon authors.  Sigma would help but he doesn't have an MLOD file of his own.  Others haven't responded.
- Oyman volunteered to upload his own models he used in helping me, but it seems like he vanished off the radar.

If you can help me, please upload an MLOD version of the T80 or Abrams (T80 preferred actually) either to your space somewhere, my email account at "adam.preble [at] gmail.com," or AOL IM me at "Rocko Bonaparte"

I'll accept a custom model if that's what you have, as long as you accept I'll be turning it into a single-player controlled vehicle, hence making it very unrealistic.  I'm hoping to make some multiplayer tank-on-tank missions with the vehicles.

Failing that, if the process of exporting a tank from ODOL Explorer can be easily described, I'm dying for the tips.  I don't know all that gets lost in the export.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

they are also in .rar format

Regarding the BIS released model of the m1a1.

You only need to change the texture paths to the correct path to get it working.

For instance:

BISM1A1\abrams_kolo.pac

Change it to:

data\abrams_kolo.pac

If you do the same for all textures it should work fine in-game.

I know a little about a lot, and a lot about a little.
