wouldn't the comanche be a cool addon?i know DKM made a RAH-66 pack but i wonder what happens when BAS make it!!!!!! :-) (mr bush why did you cancel the comanche program even i think you are stupid now!) ;-)

Everyone is in love with the new unmanned aircraft.  The Commanche is a manned aircraft (2 pilots) in the dangerous world of low level battle field recon.  Apparently US military advisors feel that UAVs (Unmanned Airial Vehicles) are better suited for this enviornment.  I personally feel that unmanned aircraft should not replace manned aircraft entirely in any field of warfighting, because they themselves are vulnerable to computer viruses, and electronic hijacking (someone could theoretically jam your radio control transmission, and use your own UAV against you).

I think most of Congress and some military experts thought the Commanche would be one big expensive helo that would be flak bait for all the fixed position flak guns that were very effective in that Apache incident in the Iraq War.

Perhaps for a Marine Amphibious Assault or a large land war like the first Gulf War it would be perfect in those situations.

I also think the US Navy needs a new helo design for their ASW helos, a stealth or a more smaller RCS would greatly help help surface ship's recon abilities using LPI radar.

AFAIK, BAS is no longer working on the Commanche.  What is wrong with DKM's one?

BAS have canceled the project... and DKm addons are notorious for adding problems to your computer... once installed, and removed the game starts asking for them...

although AFAIK ( ) i think they released a fix for this... although i can't work out why only DKM addons have this 'feature'

DKMs Commanche is fine, why even bother to make another? Sulerly there are other things addon makers can work on rather than getting two of a single unit for us to play with.

BTW, Bush didn't cancel the program.  The Army's Cheif of Staff, General Schoomaker did.  This program was 21 years in the making for a cold-war task that wouldn't fare too well in the modern battlefield environment.
