Operation Flashpoint is the closest thing to a realistic battlefield on a computer, and I agree with the Child thing. In modern day warfare, you do see children as combatants for 3rd world and terrorist nations. What people need to realize is that you can't hide the fact that Children are  COMBATANTS.

It's a taboo when you talk about killing women and children, but really think about it. You will never be able to hide that fact that children fight and killed in wars.

I think there should be a Child addon. Not to be sadistic, evil and all about killing our youth, but realistic and honest.

Watch the movies Blackhawk Down and Saving Private Ryan. There are child combatants in these movies, and they are telling the truths about the Hitler Youth Organizations and the Islamic Rebel forces that recruit them. Yes, it's wrong but real, and you shouldn't hide reality.

Ok, calm down everyone.  This can be an emotional topic so please keep it mature and calm.  

IMO getting close to reality is good in OFP.  It is an unfortunate truth that women and children are often involved in conflicts.  And IMO it's a good thing not to ignore the fact that anyone can die when large battles occur.  

In real life, war and large scale fighting is horrible and should always be used as a last resort.  So maybe helping people see this or making them confront this fact when they don't want to is a good thing?  I guess it all depends on whether or not we want our games to not only be fun, but teach us important lessons too.  

If the community in general is able to accept such an addon idea, I say go for it.  (and I might even help) If not though, I can see such ideas dividing the community and starting problems.

Also, I can see this adding to the dramatic effect of missions, as well as the general atmosphere and ability to get the player to feel emotions that they wouldn't have before.
