How many mags???
« on: 18 May 2003, 20:11:36 »
Hi guys, can anyone tell me, what is the average mag count for each weapon on a 12 Vs 12 30 mins CTF?  I work it out at roughly 4000 mags for each type of weapon (the less popular ones don't need as many obviously) is this right or am i overestimating??  I'd rather over-estimate than under-estimate but i don't want to add far too many and sky-rocket my file-size!!

Thanx in advance!!

I know i can put in as many as i want but i want enough to last the round but not too many that my mission file is huge!!

I was just looking for someone to give me a guideline based on experience ;)

I think most people die after using a maximum of 2 magazines.  If there are an average of 8 deaths per player, 8x24x2 = 192 magazines.

If you use one of the reload-on-respawn scripts, you won't need to put so many magazines in.  My own method is respawning with the weapon and then crates full of extra optional weapons.  There would be, say 20 rifles and 120 magazines for that rifle type in the crate.

I think 200 mags will do just fine, if it seems to come up short try going up to 400.
