Mercs Addon?

Ive posted this idead a few times, and wish i could implement it myself, but i cant do all that programming malarky....

One of my favourite games (Flashpoint and deus ex ....aside)of all time was jagged alliance 2, an absolutely excellent game with shite graphics but wonderfull game play. Now after seeing the "buy weapons" menu released in the last day or so.., my brain started ticking. It would be brilliant (specialy now, as jagged alliance 3 looks like it will never ever be) if someone made a mercenary conflicts mod, where say...you were responsible in aiding rebels (similar to resistance i know but...), or just as a mercenary group, to overthrow a ruthless dictator type character and their oppressive regime from an island, or a number of them in an actual campaign.

  You could implement all of jagged alliances cool features, like the hoarding, discover of equipment, team management, medical issues, pay demands ( Youll understand if you liked the jagged alliance series) with all of OPF's wonderfull features like the engine, vehicles, weapons, .....well everything really.....!!!!

I think anyone interested in this idea will understand what im getting at......i just thought a combination of the two would make for some solid gaming

I agree. I have been trying to make a merc campaign but I lose interest cause there are not alot of options to choose from. i tried east and west but the just dont fit the part. Mercs come from anywhere to where the money tells em to go. I would be interested in some new mercs that would feature rough, tough looking men. With an assortment of weapons such as new helos like old busted up hueys or such and even pickups and jeeps from WWII or anything else mercs could get their hands on for the right price. :o

hi buddy, sorry ive just got in at the moment, im drunk, please please please please please, get in touch with me, im sure that between the two of  we can come up with a great idea/ basis for a merc game, even if myself and you only come up with the mission ideas etc etc.......

I will make more sense tommorrow...............

Okay well do you have a mod in mind or something. I can make models. But texturing and configs are not a strong area, but I gan get them in.

if there was ever a game that could be modded into a merc game, it'f OFP. Personally, I'd love to see a Fallout-style mod for OFP.

Man, Deus Ex was a great game. I put more hours into that than any game except for OFP and the Fallout series. So open-ended...

If you need a missions ideas dude, or just someone to make up backstories, I'm willing to help. JA2 and Fallout used to be my favourite games, incidentally.

Okay then do we want to start something, cause if we do the sooner the better. For the plot we could have people send some in and then we could vote on the best we like. Then continue from there.
