Scanning the Horizon/Use of Binoculars
« on: 06 Feb 2003, 14:40:29 »
I have worked out how to scan the horizon from a tutorial here which has units moving to a point and moving on again, cycling through a scan of the horizon once.  I have two questions.

First, I am wanting a unit to constantly scan the horizon from a hill.  How do I get it to do that? To scan from side of the hill constantly.

Secondly, I want the unit to use binos. I used a command similar to this one officer1 playmove "binocStandToSTand".  Only problem is that he pulls his binos out for a split second a puts them away again.  I would like this unit to utilise the binos constantly until an enemy is spotted.  How do I do that.

If someone could post an *.sqm file on this I would be most grateful. thankyou.

I posted an .sqm yesterday for you on the siren question.     Did you see it?

Creating and testing a mission is a lot harder than just writing a post on the forum.     It is normally reserved for awkward situations, or where the poster has an appropriate mission already tucked away somewhere.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Thanks Macguba.  I got the file.  Very much appreciated.  I found it quite easy to learn that way than some of the posts I have read.  Similarly with the tutorials here I have found out more through these files as well.  Easy that way to see it put together.

I thought that since you helped me out this way, others may do the same or at least give me some good helpful advice on these two issues.
