Chopper dropoff, irregular behaviour
« on: 11 Jan 2003, 15:20:01 »
Version 1.90, Nogova, MP.

UH60 - No enemy activity, behaviour careless and combatmode blue. Speed set to full.

I've got a group of west soldiers in a UH60. The choopper is supposed to unload with a synchronized transport unload wp. Group leader is linked to a get out wp.

Here's the problem:
The chopper will just hoover above the waypoint. AI leader OR any number of AI troops in the choooper with human leader, the chopper will land. If only human players it sometimes lands if only 2 ppl in the chopper. More players will cause it to hoover. Actually I know how to solve the problem, but I would really like to know if someone can explain this (if there is an explanation).

Welcome to the forums, eccom

I suggest you unsync the TRANSPORT UNLOAD waypoint, as this is the reason it is not working.

A TRANSPORT UNLOAD waypoint will make the aircraft land (at the nearest suitible spot... I suggest you put an H down) and unload all units in the cargo of the aircraft. It is a stand alone waypoint, and doesn't need to be sync'ed to anything. I think you may be thinking of a normal LOAD waypoint.

I'm assuming the reason the chopper was stopping is because it was waiting for your group (which are in the chopper) to get to their GET OUT waypoint (which they never will, as they are in the chopper), hence the chopper stops and waits forever. ;)
