Newbie Problem - Synchronizing desn't seem to work
« on: 06 Dec 2002, 11:16:13 »
Am I being dumb?  I cannot get to synchronize waypoints and triggers.  I have set up a simple test trigger whyere I place a soldier, give him a way point a few hundred yards away, set up a trigger and then synchronise them.

The synchronised trigger should mean that the soldier wont move until a west soldier goes near a house but when I preview this the soldier just dashes off immediately.  Its driving me crazy!  My mate is also having exactly the same problem.

Its definitely creating the link between the WP and Trigger and when I walk to the trigger it activates.  It's just that the waypoint activates immediately even if the trigger hasn't been activated.

Help!  :-X

yep definatly being dumb  :P

da synced trig wil not allow da soldier 2 mover 2 da next WP 2 da 1 its synced 2 - so if u want him 2 stop put a WP on da soldier himself nd sync it 2 da trig

Hi there!
I used to suffer the same fate. AI always runs to the first waypoint sync'd or not.
Place a waypoint directly on the AI you want to move, then make one that moves to the next location. Synchronize the first waypoint to the trigger. When the trigger is activated, the AI will leg it to the next waypoint. Check this mission out.

The mission is loaded on desert island, place the unzipped file into the users/name/missions folder and load it in the editor
