When using sideChat or one of the others, how do you make the radio hiss noise that goes with it? It's not as good when the text appears without any sound indication.

If you save your voice, save it as a very low quality.

Ya need to make some custom sound stuff, matey!  :D

home-made "radio style" voices can be made pretty easy by simply
talking through a telephone/mobile into the mike when recording  :)

All it takes is a microphone & a lil' bit of software + a suitable soundcard.
Most ppl should be able to buy these things.... mike's are cheap nowadays  :-*
( or simply DL some sounds from a DVD movie / the net  ;) and then convert to .ogg files! )

And it adds ALOTTA atmosphere to yer missions

CHEERS

G'day

Here's an excerpt from BloodMixer's sound tutorial

step 3.5 : Creating radio chatter

So if you got your editor , check if it is able to filter and distort your sound. This is useful for creating radio chatter. First I distort the sound with the distort filter, to make it sound distorted. After that I remove all the frequencies below 350 Khz and above 5000 Khz with a band filter, to make it seem like a radio/phone transmission.

You can visit his site at http://members.lycos.co.uk/bloodmixer/scripts.html

hope this helps

When you are defining the type of sound/music in
the description ext, if you define radio for your sound;
when you put it into a mission the radio hiss is made
automatically by the game! ;D So no need to make it your
self!
Hope this helps 8)
