Map access
« on: 06 Jun 2010, 10:33:08 »
I was playing an online multiplayer, and I noticed my player didn't have a map. But when i approached my team leader, a hint told me i could view their map as long as i remained within 5m of them. Additionally, there was no marker on the map for my player - I had to use the terrian landmarks to find myself.

I liked it - cool!

So I've worked out that the lack of a player marker on the map is a feature of the more difficult player setting (Expert or Vetran I think), but I haven't been able to replicate the viewing another soldier's map feature.

a) How is the "view another soldier's map, based on proximity" achieved? Is that a scripted feature?
b) Is there a wiki page listing the effects of different difficulty levels? I couldn't find one.

ItemMap - if a play has this weapon (item), he has access to the map.
The near leader only map is scripted for sure. (constant add-removal based on distance to the leader)
