Drowning grenades??
« on: 06 Sep 2005, 15:47:41 »
I'm modifying a script originally made by RujiK for bouncing grenades.  The grenades now bounce better but also wont bounce on water.

However my real question is to any ex-military types who have experience with real grenades.  I want to know whether a grenade that fell in water would still go off.  Would the water seep in and drown the detonator or is the grenade sealed sufficiently that a live grenade would still explode.

Any ideas?

hmmm... is this the best place for a question like this? it's not really editing-related is it? have you tried searching google for the answer?

i shall leave this open for a wee while longer in case a passing vet has an answer, but in future please keep questions on topic.

Indeed.

I don't mind allowing this for a quick yes/no since this point hasn't come up for a while, but this kind of thing is really off topic.    It's not that its not editing related, but threads like this can rapidly become general discussions about RL grenades which is most certainly off topic.    Once you've started it's hard to know where to draw the line, so we prefer not to start.

You could try the official forums.
