I know what setunitpos "UP" and "DOWN" is but is it able to make a unit crouch , not just temporarly, but for a long time..

This question has been asked many times before, so I suggest you search the FAQ and type the word "crouch" in the searchbox
I'm sure you'll will find something useful there.

You can't. The only way to do it is with a fast loop and the crouch anim as far as I know. Also it's not really useful unless it's in a cutscene.

People are using AI Crouch in some scripts that are floating around at the moment. Download one and see how they did it.

I heard somewhere (maybe on this forum), that by setting the unit's behaviour to stealth, commandstopping (dostopping?) him, and then switchmoving the unit to a crouched position, the unit would stay there.

Never tried it, so I don't know if it works.
