Show/hide GPS
« on: 06 Aug 2005, 15:35:31 »
Is it possible to do that ingame?
I'm aware of the ShowGPS command, but if i'm not wrong you can define it only in the description, while the ShownGPS shoul be useful only to check if the GPS is enabled or not.
Since the GPS is a sort of dialog thare's a way to open/close it?
Thanks
Klavan

(if im not drunk, then I'm sober...i wouldn't know but someone prolly will) the gps can only be handled in the ext file, not via, say a trigger. but what ya CAN do is rob a bank and buy yerself loads of women and stuff... pretty dang cool if ye ask me

I'm pretty sure Showmap false (or true) will work during your mission, cos I already tried that before in one of my own.
You were an artillery observer in the trenches and you had to click the map to execute a firemission,
The map was only visible when were close to a table with map.

On top of that table, a small (repeatable) rectangle trigger
Code: [Select]
Activation : Your side, in my case it was WEST
condition : player in thislist
onactivation : showmap true
On deactivation : showmap false

Once you enter the triggerarea your map become visible and when you leave the area, the map disappeared again

Now I'm sure you can do the same thing with ShowGPS, ShowWatch,ShowCompas,ShowRadio or ShowPad

Simply put ShowGPS true in a trigger, script,...whatever

In English, as a rule:-

I'm pretty sure = I don't know
I'm sure = I'm not sure
I'm absolutely sure = I'm hopelessly wrong
