Newbie needs assistance from the Professionals\!
« on: 09 Jul 2005, 17:09:50 »
Hi Guys

Single/multi player:
This is my senario - Objective 1 - Clear out an enemy Base- Collect as much weapons as possible.
Bring all weapons to a selected area, you will be paid for every weapon, ammo, and vehicles etc.

Now the problem - my trigger(buyer) needs to know what you brought him, some form of a search script to check each weapon
tank or what ever in a trigger area. then delete that stuff and ad it to a list for creation later on.

Campiagn request:
Please explain to us how does the weaponspool command actually works
I tried the setweaponspool object, getweaponspool object stuff in comref, but it confuses me al lot.

i've used the discription file and init.sqs etc but I'm confused

Ps. Don't bite me, help me.

Respawn is handled in a special file called description.ext.   Tutes in the Editors Depot.    (Link in banner above)

Use dialogues.  This is advanced.  Forget about it for 3 months until you've learned the basics.

Be much more specific.

Use Amalfi's pbo decryptor 1.5 from the Ed Depot.

you will also need to learn about Game Logics, this is extreely important for the score board, what a game logic would do tou you score board is it would say what the score is, e.g. one player scores a goal, the score on the score board goes up by one for that team...

and as said in the above post you would need to learn about Dialogs to actually make the score board (as in a picture.jpg sort of thing)

I do have to agree with qqqqqq and Ding.  I would make plain MP mission with you on side and your friend on the other. This is how I and my friend started out and it got complex fast. Not only just in the mission it self, but then you start thinking about two sides with goals and making sure one side doesn't get errors or the mission Bogs/slows down one guys computer, and ect.... It's amazing how much goes into a plain regular mission let alone a CTF Mission.

So I would use a step by step method, Tutes, Simple MP mission and then a little more Tutes more complex MP mission and then a CTF.

Or Down-Load already done one from Mission: Beta Testing(CTP: Capture the Pub,by Redhouse) or go to Mission Depot.

As Always if ya get stuck, check the Tutes, do a Search and then come back to the Editing/Scripting Board. We are here to help!! ;)

1 more thing..there are no professionals here..........
There are however the most gifted and talented scripters, addon makers, and all around good people willing to help there fellow players!

My opinion the word "professional" is highly over-rated. ;D
