Action engineoff
« on: 22 Feb 2005, 19:50:38 »
What is the correct syntax / usage for this

I have a helo that I want to set still  I dont want to use the setfuel command or the flyinheight  command

I want the helo to start with its engines off, and then start them when a script fires.

I have found this necessary because im having some strange problems with teh BAS choppers and the setfuel command.  Its almost liek the choppers are trying to start the engine even tho there is no fuel, this causes some serious performance issues

Thanks for the help

What you want is:

vehiclename action ["engine off"]

However there is a possibility that AI will switch it back on again immediately if the pilot is AI.

I have found however that if you order the engine off this way whilst the chopper is flying, the AI does not switch it back on.

Experiment and find out.  :o

it doesn't seem to work

how about this.. how to you tell a unit to stop, then continue on its given waypoints?
I can stop them with dostop and command stop, but how do i get them to unstop.. finish their waypoint route without giving the move command for each wp?

Give them a domove command to a position near one of the waypoints and they will resume following the waypoints.  This works sometimes, but not always.

Try a doFollow command.

loon1 doFollow (leader group loon1)

or something.

to un-stop them, though the command is (provided ur using unit stop true)
is just unit stop false. I have found mixed results with these though. sometimes the bloody people wont restart again, somtimes they will :P
