Increasing ai attack range?
« on: 14 Jan 2005, 16:20:48 »
Is there a way to inc. the range that the ai engaged you at (fires at you). The machingunners do this al the time. But the regular riflemen dont seem to fire at you from longer ranges. Can editing the (not exactly sure of the name) aifiremoderange in weapon configs fix this?

I am not sure it works for oedinary riflemen, but giving snipers binoculars seems to help them.

Yes, but I am not sure how to do it. Look for Cheeky Monkey's Extended Range (ER) Weapons Pack on some of the OFP sites and that should give your soldiers some additional engagement range. I would also recommend taking a look at Unnamed's Observer and Mortar Pack available in the Addon Beta (?) topic here at OFPEC. If your units cannot see their targets, they will not engage them at longer distances! ;)
