Here is an idea I have had for a long while.
The problem with bunkers and foxholes is that they have clipping issues like buildings in ofp. plus the AI doesn't like shooting over or next to sandbags. But when given a static gun they have no problem
If a fox hole was made with space for 2 guys a machinegunner and a spotter in the same group, then it would be smart if you used the action menu to place the soldiers in the bunker.
e.g. just like getting in a tank as gunner and commander.
I.e. The action menu would give the player the option of "get in fox hole as gunner" /"spotter". Selecting this would place the soldier lying down in fireing position, next to the spotter. also in the editor all you would have to do is use the command "this moveingunner foxhole1; or this assignasgunner foxhole1".
Furthermore the gun in the foxhole can be removed and changed just like with a soldier i.e.
"foxhole1 removeweapon "blahblah;" this will allow flexability with sides and standard issue weapons. the gunner should have a 180 degrees or just a little less field of veiw in front, but have cover on both sides with a roof . although the design can go down to the addon maker. I would like to see vietnam ones with bannana leaves or bamboo on top. and a standard one with camo netting.
I would like to know if anyone is interested in this idea as all the bunker designs I have come across may look good but never work. If someone wants to have ago let me know.
