Triggerd by a certain unit?
« on: 08 Nov 2004, 01:14:58 »
hi ppl im new here, i made my first REAL mission last nite thx to this website(thx u guys)

my question is if i have a trigger and want a certain unit and ONLY that unit to trigger it, how? i use WEST on the activition and that means ANY west unit. but i want only a certain unit, 1 unit ONLY, how?

e.g.  meplayer runs in to a trigger and this causes a another unit to die.

am i makeing making sense this is kinda hard to explain?

THIS WEBSITE KICKS ASS!!!!

welcome to the forums mate,

to have only a certain person activate a trigger, group the person to the trigger (as if the trigger were another unit)

Yup, that's one I didn't learn until I saw it on the forums. :) BTW, be sure to open up the trigger again after you group it. You will find new activation options, which should be pretty self-explanitory.

I have a similar problem to sniping123 but my unit already has the group trigger and i want him to trigger something else and i cant have more than one group tigger...I'm going bald with this one guys  ???.My scenario is i'm walking round a military base and when  i go places i set off triggers,so i need more than one group trigger..

Lol you just made my day, matey.   ;D

Armsty, aka dmatkatrabollocks, is quite right, you can group as many triggers as youl like to a unit.   Frequently, this solves problems of the type you have.

Sometimes, of course, it doesn't.    In such cases it is usually possible to fix it with appropriate code in the condition field.    The generic type of term you are looking for is something like

Condition:    loon1 in thislist

If that makes no sense, or doesn't solve the problem, then by all means say so.    However, I commmend to you both the forum search function and the Editors Depot.
