Notepad/Wordpad
« on: 22 Nov 2004, 17:59:53 »
One way or another, the program Notepad has left my computer, and I'm still trying to figure out how and what the problem is. I've tried downloading it from the site but the download won't even start.

So my question is, does anyone know how to get it back, or is there another program that works well for scripting in OFP?

Did you try to reinstall it with the Windows CD? (I don't know if it could work though)
NB: I don't really think it's the right place to ask this...

How can you uninstall notepad? ::) :P

There's Chris' Script Editor in the ed depot, but you really need to have notepad on your computer.

Sometimes when you delete an icon or shortcut icon, you can think you've deleted the program, but you haven't. Erm.. Though OFPEC doesn't do general tech support..

If you're a Windows user click
Start -> Run -> type notepad in the text field -> press ok

The above determines wether you've actually managed to remove notepad or not.

Are you sure you're talking about Microsoft Notepad? Which site are you talking about?

Use context, which you can get here, it's a freeware texteditor which you can use instead of notepad.
and get my .sqs highlighter here. Place the highlighter in the highlighter folder.

Or ofcourse you could use chris's (mine is better ;), but I may be biased. )

Notepad.exe lives in C:\Windows
WordPad.exe lives in C:\Program Files\Accessories

If they aren't there, then you probably were successful in deleting them.

lol, I just checked, the site, notepad.org, starts notepad from your local C:\ drive, from it's default directory. So u really can't download it there, it's just a joke.  ;D
Try context instead, as i sayed before, it will take over all of notepad's functions.
