animation prob
« on: 12 Nov 2004, 02:50:09 »
hello,
i am having trouble with an animation,
It is part of wilcos animation pack and it is a death animation. very simple just a static of a unit lying on its belly,
face down.
My problem is that when I call the animation in a waypoint using

this switchmove "deathback" he goes on its back fine but after about 30 secs he gets back up again.
this is playing havoc with my missions because you walk by a dead guy then on the way back he is alive again.
And I tried doing this setDammage .99 but he still gets up only very bloody.

How do I contrlol the leanth of time till he gets up.
can i at least make him get up sooner than 30 secs.
I wana simulate unconsousness. sry i cant spell uncounsios

thanks

He is AI right?

when you make him do the anim make him dead (setdammage 1)
then to make him conscious use setdammage to bring him back and use an anim so it looks normal.

that should work...as long as he's AI

Hmm.... I believe this problem of wanting an animation to play forever, but the anim "ending" after a set amount of time, has been asked about before. I think the only answer anyone has come up with for those kinds of animations is that you have to make a script that loops every X seconds, and re-sets the guy to the right animation.

what about switchmove?
could do the anim then loop a switchmove to keep him on his back, then use the "get up"(whatever it would be called) anim to get him back out of the anim

Why is it not possible to use the animation and at the same time setdammage 1 to him?

He wouldn't get up after being dead or would he? Maybe to return to the reg death animation... :-\
