how about someone makes a terrain thats not a !@#$%% island! It's not like everywhere in the world is a !@#$%% island! Please, if you would, make some more non-island terrains, like CATs Afganastan, or BHD no one left behind, something less islandish for a change

nmanjar, you need to make your Topic title more clear.

There are quite a few "islands" which aren't islands. The ones you listed, Anjou, Extended Nogova etc.

But having an island creates more options for mission makers. Also, its not too hard to make (or adapt) existing islands, using WrpEdit, to make them bigger and not be an island.

yes there are a fair share of islands that arent islands, but i guess what i was really going for, was something thats pure land, and no major waterways, except maybe a few streams, but something purelymore urban like stalingrad

That's sorta the problem. Island editors don't like making large urban environments because of the lag it causes, slowing the game down. That's probably why almost none have been made. Most islands include one or two large towns and that's about it.

The other problem with all land islands is where does it stop? The ocean goes on forever and I've never gone around the world, cool if you could do that though, off the map to the east appear in the west...

But the ocean is featurless, would we have buildings, plants, and stuff and then nothing, just wasteland...?

Well that's one problem I see with it. :P

True, although I've never tried that. I should do sometime. Maybe there would be an invisible wall, so you think that you're going forwards, but you are just going sideways :-\

wouldnt you be able to create a trigger or something that when you go so far out 5k meters perhaps that you warp to the other side?

i know you can warp to different parts with some sorta script cuz it does it in a mission ive played

Yeah, that's easily possible. I did it in one of my missions.
Just make a trigger on each side and set it so that when you walk into one, you are "teleported" to the coresspondind side. You'd just need a game logic to set your new direction and position.

Maybe island editors should make it so that this function is included by default on islands which fill the whole map space (or even with sea around as well).
