Tour guide or...
« on: 03 Sep 2004, 16:59:54 »
Hi there

Another little problem that I encountered.
Here's the deal...

I'm a tour guide for a group of freshmen Aussie's in Afghanistan. We're in a base. The leader comes to me, we meet, he salutes etc...
After that it's time for me to call our lift to the AO (Area of Operations)...
At the same time 3 LAV's are going on patrol out of the city and there's a 50% chance that there will be a mine on the road.
If it blows I want the Aussies to go to their LAV and drive to the attack site which isn't far...

What I have so far:

Me
Aussies which have their first WP to me where the leader does his thing. The second one is synchronised to radio trigger for the chopper...how would I do it so that if the LAV blows they disregard their assignment in the chopper and  run to the LAV parked nearby which then in turn takes them to the attack site.
Thanks

P.S.: I don't want them in my group

This is a job for ..... Cap'n Switchtrigger!

You have a group with two totally different mission paths.   Create the waypoints for the first path.   At the end of the waypoint sequence, add the waypoints for the second path.    Create a trigger, type switch.   Synchro it to the last waypoint of the first path.    When the trigger fires the group will stop whatever it is doing and go to the first waypoint of the second path.

You can have as many paths as you like.   If you are clever with your triggers you can make the group do the paths in any order you like.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Wow, that was ultra quick.

I was gonna ask if switch has anything to do with it because it's one of the rare things that I never used and I figured that it has to be good for something...but then I forgot.
Thanks will try it out

#edit

God damn it-there isn't enough room in the LAV for them all... and on a happier note...it worked.
