triggers (gaurded by..)

ive noticed on trigger, where it says 'type' where you can choose end1 or end2 etc. there is gaurded by east/west, what do these do?

Groups on guard waypoints go there.    For example, if you have two groups on guard waypoints and one guarded by trigger, one of the guard groups will go and wait in the middle of the trigger area.
