changing clothes?
« on: 04 Jun 2004, 07:31:49 »
greetings,
A question that I havnt been able to answer thru searches, etc.:

I would like to have my player start out in civie clothes, then at some point activate a trigger where he "gears up" or gets his BDUs and nylon on. I have him start as civie "man#" with side set to WEST, but how would I change him to "BAS_deltaguy" once a trigger is tripped?

is this possible? Am I overlooking something painfully obvious?
thanks in advance for any illumination shared.

I'm afraid this is impossible. The only way you can do it, which doesn't look good, is to either make the mission a MP mission and kill and respawn the player or make it a campaign so when he reaches the trigger the mission end and the other begin.

I'm afraid Armsty's right.   You can easily fake it with an AI loon, but there's no way of doing it with the player in a SP mission.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Other ideas are to make the whole first part of the mission a cutscene/intro or you could just skip the first part and write what happend in the briefing or whatever.

o well, thanks guys for your wisdom. Now to figure out whether knowing it's impossible makes me less bitter or more...
