AP stuff

We know of the 30 mm AP rounds on OFP and how they are a little more or a lot more effective against armor than High Explosive rounds and the  sniper rifles that are big enough to destroy BMPs and such.

My idea is based on the WWII AP rifles. We have the Ap rifles right with their penatrating bullets and make weak armor units, (Bmps, M113s, Hmmv,brdm) have those actual bullets pass through armor and hit ppl inside and kill them and not just damage the vehicle unitl it crumples, explodes, or gives everyone red rashes.

For example you could specifically target the gunner of a BMP to take out the guns or knock off soldiers inside APCs. Be kinda cool since you don't have to destroy or seriously damage the tank/APC to get rid of it. Your mission bump off the drivers and gunners of the BMPs so our infantry can sourrond and destroy them. :o

Hard for scripting though..... ::)

I don't think OFP will let you. The AI fires at a target not a specific part of a target. Plus if I was a machine gunner I would just start unloading on the general direction of the BMP and hope I hit the gunner and/or the driver.

I think he was talking about very high-powered rifles like the Berret M-82 and M-99. It would be very cool if you cold take out a BMP's gunner with out destroying the BMP...

You can do it to a degree. Remember seeing T80s with their turrets pointing down (Damaged) during the campaign.

Sure you can do it that way, thats how I make sure tanks don't blow the ____  out of me by firing RPGs and LAWs right at the barrel of their big gun but I want the actual gunner person to die. Like if your the commander, you could look over and see your gunner dead in his position.

Anyways I thought of this one from a story I heard. Its WWII and this colonel guy is out in the woods checking on some guys when two panzers or something like them came down the road. The guys took one out with the bazookas they had but first the colonel pulled out his bolt action rifle (AP of course) and put the crew or most of the crew from the first tank on ice.
