Box truck it be square

How about a box truck you know with the cargo box thingy in back and an intergrated driver's cab. My neighbor has one for his business and I thought,
hmmmm I haven't seen that before. ???

So it could have like regular doors in back that have to be opened via action menu and it holds like six cargo postions and a driver with an extra cargo seat up front.
BUT, the doors can be left open or closed AND I was thinking that if it is possible that ppl can like walk around inside the truck while moving and not be in a cargo postion. So you could a "gunner" for the back.
You could make it into a SWAT van, business, anything.
It would not have the walls you can shoot through like the 5tons and URALS so it'll be like a BRDM but bigger and more civil. :o

What do ya think? 8)

I don't think it's possible to walk around when the vehicle is moving.

With BAS's MH-47E addon you can walk around when the chopper is hovering so you can give some fire support out the back ramp, but if it's moving you'll slide out the back.

Do you mean like the SWAT vans they use today, with SWAT painted all over it?

Is it possible to walk around in a vehicle when it is not moving?  What types of problems are you liable to run into if you try anything like this?

I can understand why it is not possible to walk around in cargo while a vehicle is in motion.  Buckle up please.

Anyway, we need more civil trucks besides the official utterly boring PV-3S truck.  I'll look forward to it's release date.  Also we need a 1967 GTO for Flashpoint.

Hmmm yeah I was talking about the SWAT trucks but it could have anything on the side.

Sucks that it can't be done without falling out the back.
Maybe a script that comes with it that constantly uses the setvelocity command on the "unbuckled" guy to match the truck's speed... ???

The script might really lag if the truck does a stop and go kind of driving though. :P

Greetings,

setVelocity wouldn't work. Think about it, the person wouldn't be able to move because then they'd be moving at a different velocity to the truck, and would then be set back to the velocity of the truck by the script.

Trust me, the best minds in OFP (alas, not mine), have looked at this and found no solution. Perhaps they will, eventually, but don't ask me how  ???

SetVelocity wouldn't work for walking around in a moving vehicle, but perhaps it could be used to allow a soldier to fire from a moving vehicle, as long as they remained stationary. Although there would be thousands of complications. It's unlikely the script would be able to keep up with the vehicle's movement, particularly when cornering. One of the things that annoyed me about Flashpoint was the inability to fire from any of the vehicles - especially since the manual's description of the BMP highlights the ability of soldiers in cargo to fire out of the gunports. In the game all you can do is rotate your head around 360 degrees.

The idea is impossible. Because OFP has no way for you to detect a vehicle's pitch, you'll get all sorts of bizarre effects as soon as your vehicle hits an incline/decline.
