LIST TRIGGER COMMAND
« on: 10 Jan 2004, 15:53:50 »
I need an example of how to make a trigger fire when any unit or group of units that I specify cross into it. I found the "List Trigger" command in the ComRef but don't know how to make it work.

Example of what I'm trying to tell the Trigger:

Fire trigger when any one of the following units p1,p2,p3 cross into it.

I can't use the "group" line method but I won't go into that. I need to know how to do it using only script text. Thanks in advance.

Set the trigger to activate by the side of the units you want it to be set off...
Condition: p1 in thisList || p2 in thisList || p3 in thisList

And in the activation field you can put something like hint "just checking..." to test that it works...

Oh, and that || means the same as or

When a group is in question you can use the grouping the trigger to the group method... It's the easiest...

Thank you very much for the reply. It works very well. I do have one other question however. What if I want to make the trigger the same way but use vehicles with names to trip them. Do I just substitute crew names for vehicle names? I tryed it and it didn't seem to work. thx.

You just give the vehicle a name and that should do it...
Or group the trigger with the vehicle...

The same 'rules' apply...

In your example using the crew names you need to use the vehicle command, as such:

Condition: vehicle crewname in thisList

Now the trigger will trig if the crewname is a driver, gunner or commander of the vehicle...
(If he was as a cargo you'd need to use the grouping thing (Thanks LCD ;D))

It trigs the trigger now if the crewname is in his vehicle or not...
