INSTALLING WRONG?

ok i actually have several questions that are stumping the hell out of me

1.I have downloading several addons , on severl units that i have dowloaded they never stop firing there weapons it like i have the firing trigger pressed the whole time even on some helo units ive gotten , as soon as i switch to manual fire it starts shooting away. is this a problem with the actaul unit or did i miss somthing? all you have too do i place the .obf file in the proper add on right?

2.like everyone knows how the defualt game has 4 factions to choose from , west,east,resistance,civillian.like with some of the downloads i get it add another one too it, wich is great there easier to find and test apply etc.How come every one doesnt do it that way?also is there a way to change the faction names like instead of west it could be USA or somthing? and there is obvisualy away to add factions but can you edit it in a monr so you can choose there loyalties like the resistance?

3. this is like a question and a statement, flashpoint kicks ass and what you guys have broughten to the table is awsome it adds such great depth to the game and id love to be a part of that mainly somthing simple to start ( well it might not be simple but it seems it would be simplier then some things) such as creating soldiers for varies armies is there a turial out there that explains the programs used and a step by step method for doing this?I have searched this forum and several other but nothing for dummies and thats what i need thanks for everything look forward to you replies.

Right what version is your OFP version ? and what version does the  addon require the user to have ?? Do then need Resistance and do you have it ?? This might be a problem...

Do  you mean the .pbo file ? i have never heard of a OBF file

No i dont think there is... might be wrong then...

If you are reffereing to Addon Creating then look in this sites editors depot for tutorials on everything you need...

1.  Sounds like some kind of addon or conflict problem.    I doubt I'll be able to answer, but if you tell us more - like which addons it is and which verison of OFP you are using - maybe somebody will.

2.   No.    East, West, Restistance and Civilian are really just labels:  in your mission you can name them whatever you like.   The point is that each faction demonstrates particular behaviour:  east shoots west and vice versa;   Resistance shoots whoever you say and so on.    Since you can decide who resistance shoots this only becomes a problem if you want to create a mission with 4 distinct sides.

3.  There are tutorials in the Editors Depot for almost everything you could want.     OFPEC is not working as it should at the moment as the site is being recoded to improve security (yes sadly there are people who devote time and effort to failing to close OFPEC down) so here's a link.

im running OFPR 1.94 and the one i know off of right of the top of my head is "AFRICAN MILITIA" or somthing im sure its that its african somthing oh and a polish addon too but the other one i cant rember the name off the top of my head but i did some digging and the one is the addon actaully were the mussel flash is allways on..too bad.

ok and what do you mean by no , no you cant change the west to usa?

and what i meant by loyalty is like friendly too is it is referred to by the game you knwo how you can choose to have the resistance cool with you or not or with nobody.what i was wondering is if there the only units that could be given that option cause it be cool for like mission if say a opposing rogue force could liike turn against you at some point. cause like i made a mission were as the player your lifting this town thats under seige from the east and the resistances aids you but later on in another mision you break ties and there against you, it be cool if you could do that with other factions as well.as far as the tutorial go ive looked and i cant find any , well ifound hundreds but there based around the premis the person reading them has some clue what your taking about and i dont but i so want to learn . im a wiz with paint shop and texures but dont got a clue about the whole modeling system and files stuff. oh and one more thing (sorry) my brother well all of my family is n\in the service one branch or another and he and i were both wonder why not realese service packs? like a navy pack with like the seals and there vehicles and there airships ect. for like all the services? instead of having to download a plane here a soldier here , a group of soldiers here?im thinking it be big ass file but hell it be worth it.....i think.

Ah, yes, I see what you mean.    The command setCaptive can be helpful in this kind of situation.    The relevant loons are setCaptive true at the start of the mission, then later on they are made setCaptive false.     Unfortunately you can't change the attitude of the Resistance during the mission.

You can of course call west USA.    You can call it anything you like, all I meant was that what you call it doesn't make any difference to what it means.

There are what you call "service packs", usually known as "mods".    The trouble is that they are a lot of world to create.     Hunt around OFP sites (including this one) and you'll find several.
