Max Payne?

Is it possible to make a soldiar roll or dive sideways.

I want to have a mission were a soldiar is sitting on a chair and when he is shot at he dives off the chair to cover.

 No it's not possible without a custom animation and even then it wouldn't be worth it since you would have to use an action menu selection to initiate the animation  

   ::)There were some people working on a "Matrix Mod" ::)   LMAO  ;D

 but I think they finally realized how pointless it would be with this engine and gave up since I haven't heard anything else about it .....

You wouldn't need an action, all you would need to do is have a script that waits until a bullet is near the unit, then makes him do the animation. It would be pretty easy to do, especially if it were in a cutscene. But, again, all you really need is a custom animation. There is a program out that lets you make custom animations, but I never tried it.

Fine. Check out the attatched example mission. I whipped it up in like 5 minutes. What took me the most time was trying to make something that looked almost halfway decent for the guy on the chair to do when you shoot at him. Like I said, this calls for a custom animation, but I did what I could with what I had. Unfortunately, due to limitations in how fast the game can process certain actions, if you are too close (maybe within 10 meters) to the guy on the chair, the game won't detect the bullet in time, and it will hit him.
