Is it possible to switch p3D Models Ingame?!
« on: 04 Sep 2003, 03:29:32 »
Hello everyone (that reads this at least) :),

Anyone know if you can use scripting to switch the player's model? Here's a practical example:  Us actual Snipers don't wear ghillie suits all the time, just during the stalk and when in a hide position.  The poor BIS snipers have to run around ghillied up 24/7.  Is there some way to switch between the models/textures to make a soldier "turn into" a sniper? ???

Hi

Player models cannot be switched. Vehicle models (i.e. cars, tanks, etc) possibly could be switched using "unassignVehicle" and "MoveIn". The textures on the player model could be switched if you make texture selections in O2 and use the "setObjTexture" command.

Damn! I was afraid of that.  I guess I'll have to resort to some other trickery...hmm a 'slingable' ghille suit model configured as a RPG with no ammo that you could drop/share, addweapon/removeweapon etc.......
