set "never fire" in the WP edit screen

or you could set your whole team as:

this setcaptive true

so the t72 will think they're friendly.

(the former is probably better).

then have a trigger that activates when your team is in a certain area and opens fire.  there is a command that detects if shots have been fired.  search the forum

Huh, just so you can get first shot you cheat :P ::)

You could try this setcombatmode "WHITE" in it's init field. I believe this is supposed to make a unit not fire until attacked but I'm not too sure. Give it a go.

yeah, "white" means the same as the "hold fire, engage at will" option in the WP edit screen.  I found this doesn't always work an effectively they will still shoot at you when they see you're enemy.  it's a bit volatile!

what's wrong with shooting first?!

if he's attacking peacekeepers or something they would not fire unless fired upon anyway!

still a little cheeky i suppose.  :P

Allegedly anyway ;) . And there's nothing wrong with being the first to shoot, as long as it's down to your skill rather than your ability to tinker things. You could set it's combatmode to "blue" (never fires, even if you drink its diet coke), but then set a trigger that checks to see if the T72 is damaged. When the trigger is activated it sets the T72's combatmode to "YELLOW" (open fire) or "RED" (open fire and run about looking for more things to kill). Depending on the situation that would work.
