Disabling Noise (NOT music)

Is there a way to disable all sound from OFP?
Or only to play a particular sound or music?
I want to use it in a number of ways:
a> To place emphasis on a particular noise\tune during the game/cutscene
b> To do that cool "tinnitus" effect like in Vietcong
c> some other stuff I haven't thought out yet :)

the commands fadesound and fademusic deal with the music and sound separately.  don't know how to make certain sounds louder - unless you create your own sound and then you can define it as louder in the description.ext file.

anyway

TIME fadesound VOLUME

where time is in seconds and volume is between 0 and 1 (I think).  same for fademusic although this never worked terribly well for me.

I think hes talkin about dem enviormental sounds and gun shots and whatnot- I'm not sure how to do that, nor do I think it's possible? Correct me if I'm wrong, cause this would be pretty cool  ;D  8)!

I mean specifically the "normal" game sounds (Like the engines of vehicles and the rotors of the choppers)
Not sounds you can choose from triggers or anything...
Would fadesound work for this...?

fadesound would take out ALL sound except for the music.  this includes all sound effects - voices, explosions, ambient noise and vehicle noise, etc.

fademusic takes out the music only
