A quick question.
« on: 23 Jul 2003, 22:19:02 »
Hello all. I'm new to editing and have a first time quiery. (btw I have completed the tutorial provided on the disk).

Anyway, I'm trying to make a civilian board a bus that stops at the station the civilian is at. I have set a waypoint for the bus to halt at the station and another for the man to get in the bus. I have also made a trigger that sets a variable to true when the bus enters the circle. The civilian is meant to 'get in' the bus when variable 1 is set to true but as soon as I preview the mission he runs to the bus and gets in anyway.

Any answers?

try 'synchronizing' the 'load' wp for the bus and the 'get in' wp for the unit. There shouldn't be any need for the trigger.
Not all is lost.

What the hell? I'm confused.

Connect the waypoints how?

press F5.
click on 'load' waypoint which is situated beside the bus station.
then click on 'get in' waypoint which is on the bus.

i did that and there is still no change.

you need to hit F5  .. then click on your waypoint..   then while still holding down the Left Mouse Button move your cursor over to the other waypoint and you should see a little blue line being drawn..  drag that line to the other waypoint.. let go of the button and the line should still be there..

thats how you group individual units or synchronize  triggers/waypoints/etc

Doesn't seem to be working. The civilian is still running towards the bus to get in before the bus has stopped at the station.  :'(

OK, I'll take it step by step.

1. Make a civvie
2. Make a bus
3. Make a waypoint for the bus with the type 'Load'.
4. Make a waypoint for the civview with the type 'Get In'.
5. Put these WPs really close to each other
6. Press F5 and Press and hold the left mouse button and drag a line between the Get In WP and the Load WP.

Should do the trick.

;D YAY! It worked. I was putting the get in wp on the bus. That's why it wasn't working. Thanks all for your help.

P.S the banana rocks!
