Chinook Eject Script
« on: 17 Jul 2003, 10:01:29 »
Hello.  I'm using a Paradrop.sqs script.  You place a trigger and put on the activation field:

[groupname, heliname] exec "Paradrop.sqs"

However when the chopper reaches the destination, not all of my passengers deploy their chutes causing most of the squad to fall to their deaths.  Usually if I have more than 8 men in the chopper then only a few will deploy their chutes...Can somebody tell me what the problem is?  ???

How far up is the chopper?
I don't know if it's a chopper-thing, but I've ejected more than 8 people out of the FDF Piper Chieftain, and that at fairly high speed to, and everyone made it.

There's a piper chieftan addon? :D :D

* Sui runs off to grab it so he can practice his instrument approaches...

Oh... suppose we should help the poor bloke out, huh ;D

What sort of interval are your guys jumping out at, Kahuna?
Are the all jumping at the same time, or do you have a script that spaces them out a bit?

I believe they're all a second apart and at about 200 meters

Okay, you're using the Eject group from chinook script found in the ed depot?
Just tested it meself, and the problem is they are all getting tangled up with eachother, that's why they die. They like collide mid-air, resulting in AI mush.
Will see about modifying the script to make it work better.

2 minutes.

edit

Is your chopper flying at "limited" speed?
If so, then that's your problem, have it fly in at least "normal" speed and the default script should work just fine.

They're flying at Normal speed....But most of them don't even deploy their chutes...The ones that do deploy their chutes aren't even connected to them (The parachutes slowly descend by theirselves not even attactched to a unit).

Well, I just tested the example mission that came with the script from the ed depot, and it worked fine.

Could you post your mission here so I can have a look?

You wouldn't by any chance using the old version of the BAS chinook instead of ver 1.2 because i remember having the same problem using that one.
