BAS MH-47E extraction
« on: 29 Apr 2003, 09:00:58 »
Right, u know how u can call in day or night extraction with BAS's MH-47E through a radio command and u place the flares/smoke and all, which is a great touch BUT the chopper in question has to be part of your group...yes?

Would it be possible to create a script that once a trigger is active the leader of the group has the ability to call up this EXACT type of extraction without having the chopper as part of his group?

I'm thinking it would kinda mean an intermingling of snYpir's extraction script and the script BAS made for said chopper ???

If so, would anyone be good enough to have a bash at it pls?
*Nods head in a frantic manner ;D "Say yes, say yes" ;D

Hope so, thanx :)

I donÂ't know much about scripting, but this might be a more simple solution.

Maybe you can place the MH-47E with a loose unit in a group, have the chinook waiting somewhere far away, and have the loose unit hiding in a location specified in the mission briefing, then have a join and lead WP on this unit.
So if youÂ'd get him in your team, then thereÂ's the MH-47E at your disposal.

I know itÂ's a basic and simple idea, but hey... at least itÂ's something  ;)

Hi McBurne :)

This being the scripting ideas board, i wasn't actually asking how i can get a MH-47E to come pick me up, i was asking if there was someone who fancied attempting a script where you could call in the actual multi-smoke/flare extraction without having the chopper in your group. :)

Yeah, it can be done the way you said but that would mean i'd have to cut the multi-players down to 11, which would be odd so i'd have to cut them down to 10 and i wouldn't get the multi-smoke/flare effect which is rather cool 8)

Thanx for your reply anyway dude!! ;)

So does anyone fancy attempting it?? ;D

Maybe somehow force the Helo to join your group when you call for extraction and set it up from there?
