intro problem

I've made an intro in the mission editor, and I'e previewed it and everything is fine. How do I actually put it into my mission so that when I play my mission the intro comes up at the start and then stops, with the mission following?

Make sure it has an end1 trigger. When you export the whole thing to single player, the intro will play first.

where it says 'mission' in the editor... click on that and choose 'intro' - create your intro here and when the mission is exported to SP, it will automatically be played before the mission.
also check out the intro tutorials available in the editors depot.

Hi !
Okay answers are great but I wonder
what kind of a mission you are working on Vassili ?
I am asking this question because you have at least two choices;
1
-
putting your intro before the briefing or
2
-
putting your intro after the briefing, so this is called cutscene yet it is an intro again
These two create different meanings for your mission -
I say these as a film and television department student, so I am speaking about the ways of "representation", the factors of time and place in representation
.
if you do the first and put your intro under the selection of "intro";
the result is;
After seeing the intro automatically, then briefing follows with the map and player gets informed about
"the mission he/she will be playing".
In my perspective, this creates a
"before-the-fight"
feeling since
"after"
seeing the intro player
"takes a briefing".
This is a chronological concern. The first is usually first, you know... I know the word
"intro"
is also self-explanatory
Furthermore, in this case, if you put your intro under the selection of "intro" in mission editor - mission editor working in advanced -, player can also skip the intro by the key "escape". This may be beneficial for tough missions which makes the player try over and over. In this case, player doesn't have to gaze the intro over and over.
if you do the second and put your intro under the selection of "mission";
the result is;
after taking the breifing and being clarifed about the fight coming, player selects continue to play the game ( with a trigger you can set your intro begin in the beginning ) and then your intro begins. After this intro, game begins without any black screen or map, briefing etc unlike it does with the first alternative.
Again, in my perspective, this creates an
"almost-during-the-fight"
feeling since
"after"
seeing the briefing, ( briefing is usually given to soldiers "in the morning of the battle" and then soldiers go to
"the field of fight".
Naturally this takes some time
"in sequence"
) then player watches the intro
"just before"
the major thing he/she is
"in"
or will be playing
"extremely soon"
unlike the first alternative offers. This is again a chronological matter.
Actually I mean the first one offers to you an
"intermittent, discontinuous"
flow of action in time and space. because there is a serious time factor I explained above, because there is a serious place factor as soldiers take briefing , probably, in headquarters and then go to the
"field of war".
Therefore, obviously there are two places....
I wish this an handy, useful reply.
Correct me if I am wrong on some points, it would be great to learn my mistakes
.
